If you shop on the west side, there's a new Aldi to try. The grocer opened its newest store Thursday at 5224 West Ridge Road in Millcreek Township, across from Walmart, and shoppers lined up through the parking lot before the doors opened. Township and Aldi officials cut the ribbon that morning.
- Hours: daily, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The timing is handy for Thanksgiving planning. A casual survey found a basket of 10 common grocery items cost $1.06 more, on average, in November than in early October. Nationally, Aldi is working toward 3,200 stores by the end of 2028.
