A cleanup project restored 1,381 gravestones (many darkened and illegible) at the Erie Soldiers' and Sailors' Home to honor Civil War veterans.

The Erie County Civil War Roundtable will lead a free tour of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Home cemetery, where nearly 800 Civil War veterans are buried, on Sept.
