- ➤ Erie City Council voted Dec. 23 to transfer the zoo to Erie Events for better support, including $500,000 a year for maintenance (the zoo turned 100 this year). The move will prevent closures and awaits state and federal approvals. The Erie Times-News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Local experts advise dog owners to dress pets in warm gear (such as sweaters and booties) and clear walkways to help them take short, safe outdoor breaks in cold weather. The guidance warns that low temperatures could worsen arthritis and harm paws and ears. The Erie Times-News
