  • On Dec. 17, 2025, Sally Guzik took over as president of Fourth Economy, a firm advancing community development projects in Erie. She will guide efforts including market analyses for 12th Street Reimagined and housing studies for up to 500 affordable units.  The Erie Times-News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Erie-area woman Holly Miller is receiving a new drug treatment for pancreatic cancer that offers her hope, according to UPMC oncologist Dr. David Seastone. Doctors will continue to monitor her progress as she follows her treatment plan.  The Erie Times-News

  • Fort LeBoeuf wrestlers secured a 40-36 win with five pins in a District 10 dual meet against Sharpsville on Dec. 17; the match marked an impressive start to the season with Pine-Richland’s Ram Slam scheduled for Dec. 20 and other tournaments coming in January.  The Erie Times-News
  • The Erie Times-News has compiled a top performers list for District 10 featuring standout scores in basketball, swimming and wrestling for Dec. 15-20. The list shows athletes building momentum for the winter sports season in local competitions.  The Erie Times-News

  • The Erie Otters traded leading scorer Dylan Edwards to the Kitchener Rangers on Dec. 16 for forward Evan Headrick and a draft pick because Edwards is now overage.   • McDowell sophomore Chloe Zacherl demonstrated a Russian tie to fireman’s carry sequence in the District 10 Technique of the Week video on Dec. 17, boosting her 33-4 record as one of Erie County’s top high school wrestlers.  The Erie Times-News
