  • College senior Conor Amendola, who has raised more than $100,000 for Make-A-Wish, will host a guest bartending event at Room 33 in downtown Erie on Wednesday, Dec. 17 (5 to 9 p.m.) to boost his 2025 Wish Your Way campaign and help grant wishes for children facing critical illnesses.  TalkErie.com

  • The Presque Isle Lights display is set to brighten Presque Isle this holiday season & offers festive decorations and family-friendly activities for residents and visitors. Organizers will soon announce detailed timings and event specifics.  Erie Reader

HEALTH NEWS

  • State officials have said that Pennie premiums will nearly double next year if federal tax credits expire, with Erie County seeing an 80% rise (about $129 extra per month) in monthly costs. Over 45,000 enrollees canceled coverage during this open enrollment as lawmakers continue debating subsidy extensions.  The Erie Times-News

  • Erie Times-News highlights its 25 for '25 series (a list that honors 25 top male athletes from Erie County since 2000) and brings local sports talent into the spotlight.  The Erie Times-News
  • Voting remains open for District 10 high school wrestling stars from Dec. 8-13 with selections closing tomorrow (Dec. 17 at 5 p.m.). Fans can review profiles to pick local boys' and girls' wrestlers, as reported by the Erie Times-News.  The Erie Times-News
  • At the STWOA wrestling tournament held on Dec. 12 and 13, the Corry boys + Fort LeBoeuf girls showed their skill as the boys finished second and the girls won the team title at Redbank Valley. Grove City beat Hickory in the Rande Stottlemyer Memorial Duals.  The Erie Times-News
  • Erie Times-News, Seaway Window and AHN Sports Medicine announced athlete of the week polls for District 10 winter sports season that run online every Monday to Wednesday at 5 p.m. through next March, with wrestling nominees voted on separately.  The Erie Times-News
