- ➤ The Erie School Board is forming a committee to consider renaming Harding Elementary School after a Dec. 4 public meeting on the proposal. Community members and students may submit input online or at 1910 Sassafras St. while the board plans to share recommendations in January. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ Henry Louis Gates Jr. returned to Erie on Dec. 4 to speak at the Warner Theatre during the Jefferson Educational Society's Global Summit XVII, where he recounted how his childhood interest in genealogy inspired his PBS show Finding Your Roots. The Erie Times-News
