- ➤ The 61st annual Barber Ball will be held on Dec. 13 at Bayfront Convention Center where guests in formal wear will dance to support the Barber National Institute — the event will raise funds for home renovations and feature music from Stiletto Fire and DJ Anthony Berarducci, with doors opening at 7 p.m. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ A survey by the Civic Impact Project of 500 local nonprofits found that federal funding cuts have already stripped $13.5 million from 15 groups, leading to 53 job losses and reduced services. - ➤ On November 17, U.S. Representative Mike Kelly announced that more than $2.5 million in Community Project Funding grants was approved for fire companies in Pennsylvania’s 16th District — the money will let the Greenfield Township Volunteer Fire Company build a new station, the West Mead #1 Volunteer Fire Company replace an aging pump, and the Harmony Fire District update a 23-year-old apparatus. - ➤ MHEDS broke ground yesterday at 1407 Buffalo Road on a former CVS building to launch a new facility that will provide affordable, personalized healthcare to Erie residents. A $7,000 donation from Golden Home Health Care will fund a mobile medical unit to extend service access. YourErie.com
- ➤ AHN Saint Vincent Hospital announced a new simulation lab called STAR that was funded by a $250,000 grant from the Erie Community Foundation and will open in late 2026.
