- ➤ Operation Christmas Child, run by Samaritan’s Purse, began on Nov. 17 and will accept shoebox donations at five Erie churches until Nov. 24 — packages should include toys, school supplies, and clothing but no perishable or hazardous items — the drive aims to help reach 12 million children worldwide.
