COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Girard United Methodist Church is raising money to restore its 157-year-old bell tower and install a carillon system that will play chimes and Christmas carols. The church has raised most of the $35,000 needed for repairs but still needs nearly $7,000 toward the carillon’s $20,000 cost, with work planned for this fall if weather permits.  The Erie Times-News
