  • On Oct. 4, 2025, a Peace & Prayer vigil honoring the legacy of Charlie Kirk was held in West Perry Square in Erie—guest speakers including Pastor Dave Sherwood and county executive Brenton Davis addressed the crowd while Band 814 performed live.  The Erie Times-News
  • Erie's Community Choice Awards winners will be revealed at a sold-out gala at Bayfront Convention Center on Oct.9 at 6 p.m.—only finalists with pre-purchased tickets may attend. Winners will be published in the Erie Times-News and on GoErie.com on Oct.12.  The Erie Times-News

  • Terry Rensel, an Erie native and preservationist, will speak about the 145th Pennsylvania regiment’s tough luck at Chancellorsville at 7 p.m. on Oct. 21 at the Hagen History Center—members of the public are invited to attend.  The Erie Times-News

  • Gannon opened an interactive Lake Erie education and research center at Blasco Library on Oct. 4—Erie County Library Director Jessica Spitulski said the center will offer new resources for local learning.  The Erie Times-News

  • Mercyhurst football beat Long Island 22—13 in its first official Northeast Conference game on Oct. 4—key defensive stops and early rushing touchdowns helped secure the win. The team will play six more NEC games and travel to see Wagner on Oct. 11.  The Erie Times-News
