- ➤ Erie's Funniest is a nine‐week comedy competition at Kellar's Modern Magic and Comedy Club that will start on Oct. 17 — comics from Erie, Cleveland, Buffalo and Pittsburgh will compete for $500, a paid feature act and an iHeart Radio spot. Contestants must buy a $25 entry ticket by Oct. 6 while audience tickets cost $15 and local foods are featured. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ The Hagen History Center opened a new exhibit called 'The Story of Us, Erie Polonia: Churches and Neighborhoods' that displays historic artifacts from Erie’s four Polish parishes and explores the city’s Polish roots. Curator Bobby Sulecki said the exhibit—open until Jan. 30—offers a rare view of local history, and organizers invite the public to an opening celebration today from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. YourErie.com

- ➤ Today, the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority awarded $570K to seven projects through the Anchor Building Grant Program to repurpose buildings like the Sarah Reed Children’s Center St. Ann’s campus—Perry Wood said the grant will create jobs and boost community benefits. - ➤ Today, the Pennsylvania Municipal League hosts its annual Municipal Leadership Summit at Bayfront Convention Center in Erie. - ➤ Erie is set to see a new housing development in the West Bayfront neighborhood as the city plans to build 61 units of fourplexes and townhouses on vacant parcels along the 600 block of West 2nd and 3rd Streets. The Boston-based firm Arctaris Impact Investors presented designs by Opticos to City Council and will break ground in the spring with residents moving in 18 months later (Councilman Chuck Nelson noted the area’s transformation from a former dump).
