During September, several Erie dining spots changed as Serafini’s Trattoria opened an invite-only restaurant on State St., Mighty Fine Donuts extended its hours, Mi Scuzi closed after its owner filed for bankruptcy, and Pittsburgh Inn was sold—while a Speed Check station in Summit Township was approved to develop a drive-through restaurant. In addition, Firebirds in Millcreek Mall closed for a day because of health violations before reopening, and the old Saga Club building is being renovated into the Union Club for members only—signals a shifting local restaurant landscape.
