- ➤ Erie's 50th CROP Hunger Walk will take place on Sept. 28 at Presque Isle State Park's Beach One at 9 a.m.—offering walkers a choice between a 1-mile or 5.3-mile loop. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Erie Playhouse is ending its 2025 season with four shows left including Frozen running weekends from Dec. 5-Jan. 4, while My Fair Lady runs Sept. 25-28. The 2026 season will feature new musicals, youth productions and classic plays with season tickets on sale Oct. 1 + tickets for each show available three to four weeks before opening. - ➤ A Millcreek resident named Cheryl Servidio urged voters to oppose changing to an appointed government, saying that elected supervisors have long served the community well. A clean energy advocate from PennEnvironment said stalled renewable energy projects by PJM have caused utility bills to rise for Erie residents—sparking debate over local government and energy policies. - ➤ Erie Water Works is replacing nearly 7,400 lead service lines as part of a $72 million project to improve water quality, and 75% of hazardous connections have already been replaced.
