- ➤ On Oct. 24 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Erie Art Museum, Compton's Table will host its second annual Gay-La to raise funds for free services—services like rent help and legal support for the queer community while the night features drag shows, an auction, and a new fund for queer youth. - ➤ Local seniors enjoyed classic cars — about 40 vehicles were displayed from the parking lot to the lawn at Springhill Senior Living on Edinboro Road on Thursday afternoon — while classic tunes played and an ice cream truck made a stop. - ➤ Mercy Center for Women opened the new Brandy’s Corner transitional housing units at the former Holy Rosary rectory on Thursday during a ribbon-cutting and open house event. The facility—named in honor of graduate Brandy Krieger—aimed to support women and families in recovery. YourErie.com
- ➤ City of Erie officials cut the ribbon on a renovated playground at Columbus Park on Wednesday on the west side, installing new equipment for children aged 5 to 12. - ➤ Settlement administrators are still reviewing claims in a $2.67 billion antitrust case against Blue Cross Blue Shield plans—checks have not been sent yet to roughly six million people who may get about $333 each when payments begin. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Erie County Executive Brenton Davis discussed a new daytime drop-in program for homeless individuals during a Sept. 17 news conference—he said the program will offer added support services. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Pennie warned that if Congress does not extend enhanced tax credits by Sept 30, the cost of ACA plans for 2026 could jump 82% — enrollment may drop by 30%.
