- ➤ After Wednesday night's City Council meeting near Perry Square, community members gathered to demand more information on the shooting death of Marchello Woodard by a state parole officer, which state police and the Erie County District Attorney have been investigating for 77 days as protesters called for more transparency. - ➤ Erie County announced Wednesday it was seeking qualified providers to set up a daytime drop-in program at the Community Resiliency Center—aimed at giving people experiencing homelessness a safe place to rest and find referrals. County Executive Brenton Davis said proposals must be submitted by October 6 so the program can help residents move from survival mode to greater stability. YourErie.com
