EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At Gannon University, four fraternities and four sororities welcomed 30 to 60 new members this spring through recruitment events—groups like Delta Sigma Phi and Alpha Gamma Delta continue long-standing traditions. The organizations supported the Erie community by donating over $15,000 and completing 5,400 service hours while celebrating Omega week and planning events like Feast of Roses, Mr and Mrs and Formal. - ➤ The Erie County Health Department found seven violations at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Millcreek Mall on Sept 5—detailed issues with cleanliness and food safety—and the restaurant closed until it reopened on Sept 6 after fixing the problems. The Erie Times-News
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ New data from Realtor.com shows that home sale prices in Erie County increased in June, with the median home selling for $201,000 compared to $197,400 in May. Sales for single-family homes and condominiums diverged—prices for single homes rose to $210,106 while condominiums dropped to $156,900—as the number of recorded sales grew by 4%. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Fort LeBoeuf beat North East 29-3 at Carm Bonito Field as the Bison forced four turnovers and Skyler Sadowski ran for three touchdowns after nearly three scoreless quarters — spoiling North East's perfect start.
