- ➤ The Community Blood Bank is holding a mobile drive at McKean Elementary School to collect blood for six-year-old Alaina, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in January. There is a second drive today from 2:00 to 6:30 p.m. for those who missed the earlier event. YourErie.com
- ➤ The Flag Across America made its stop at Wesleyville American Legion on Tuesday — part of the annual Patriot Tour that honors veterans and raises funds and awareness. - ➤ The historic tall ship Porcupine at the Bayfront Maritime Center on Holland Street is 90% complete and awaits work on masts and electrical touches before its planned maiden voyage on Lake Erie in 2026. - ➤ Erie County Executive Brenton Davis used a sledgehammer to break a wall at Erie County Community College and start work on a new health care training center—costing $5.2 million with contributions from county funds, a state grant and local health providers to train hundreds of students. - ➤ Erie City Council will meet today to discuss transferring ownership of the Erie Zoo as the facility struggles financially and risks cutting operations without a new plan. - ➤ Erie’s public broadcasting station WQLN is planning to leave its Sesame Street facility after losing $1.2 million in yearly federal funding following Congress' cuts.
