- ➤ Erie Downtown Partnership canceled the remaining Movie Mondays screenings in Perry Square after rowdy youths caused fights and disruptions in June and July — the cancellations include Muppet Treasure Island on July 28, The Avengers on August 11, and Wicked on August 25 — to help keep downtown safe. - ➤ Erie City Police responded early Sunday morning after a 49-year-old man was stabbed on the 2600 block of Peach Street and died shortly after arriving at Saint Vincent Hospital at 6:30 a.m.—the victim's girlfriend, 26-year-old Stachaira Monique Davis, is in custody and charged with homicide as police continue investigating the area where the couple lived. - ➤ The Pennsylvania Game Commission approved 13 consecutive Sundays for fall hunting—adding more days for deer, bear and other game while not covering waterfowl and keeping season lengths the same.
