  • Beer on the Bay marked its 16th year at Liberty Park Amphitheater yesterday with 50 breweries and over 20 vendors benefiting the ANNA Shelter. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Erie police are investigating an accident on the east side after a pedestrian was hit — officers are gathering evidence at the scene to determine the cause.  YourErie.com
  • On Friday, 60-year-old Howard Perkins—of Corry—died when his vehicle left State Highway 89 in Sparta Township after he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and struck a concrete culvert.  YourErie.com

CULTURE NEWS

  • Because the Brig Niagara is in repairs and will return in July 2026, the Lettie G. Howard—captained by Erie native Griffin Hayes—will lead the Parade of Sail at Tall Ships Erie on Aug. 21 from 4-6 p.m. This change marks the first time Niagara has not led the parade into Presque Isle Bay.  The Erie Times-News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority invested over $7.1 million in fiscal year 2024 to support community events, neighborhood improvements and youth programs across Erie — using funds in five categories that include quality of place, neighborhoods, youth, municipalities and small businesses. The investments, part of nearly $89 million made since 2011, boosted projects ranging from downtown renovations to local festivals and youth job training programs — shaping Erie’s future.  The Erie Times-News
