  • A local fire station celebrated 100 years of carrying the Stancliff name when fireworks were set off at 9 p.m. Saturday—assistant chief Ryne Rutkowski said the renaming from Eagle Hose in 1925 honors the family's lasting contribution.  YourErie.com
  • Community members enjoyed the 814 Concert Series at Bayview Park on Sunday night as SideEye performed local music with food and lake views available—City of Erie Mayor Joe Schember said the series has received strong feedback. He added that the next concert will be held on July 27 at Nickel Plate Mills with The Preach Freedom Experience—a plan that many say will build on the event's success.  YourErie.com
  • Four Mercyhurst members, Amber Stilwell, Jenessa Norton, Bethany Woods, and Brandon J. Mendoza (president of the Erie Regional Chamber), were honored in Erie Reader’s 40 Under 40 for their work in environmental science, business consulting and academic engagement.
