  • The first ever Rides for the Rise: Motor Music Festival will be held tomorrow at Liberty Park with a motorcycle parade starting at West Erie Plaza and ending on the bayfront—registration begins at 10 a.m. at West Erie Plaza and a portion of the proceeds will support local youth programs.  YourErie.com

  • At a July 16 City Council meeting in Erie, dozens of citizens demanded action and transparency over the ongoing homicide investigation into Marchello Woodard's shooting on July 2—by a state parole agent—as his death spurred protests and calls for accountability.  The Erie Times-News

  • Erie Playhouse announced that it will present Cats: The Musical to bring a familiar Broadway show to local audiences — the production will feature live singing and dynamic dancing for theater fans.  Erie Reader
  • Erie Arts & Culture has launched Ethnic Market Tours to guide residents through local international markets to taste traditional foods on select Saturdays from July to September, with tours led by Lubna Dabbah.   • Erie's annual AmeriMasala festival returns to Perry Square on July 19 with a parade of cultural performers, food vendors, and art displays. Organized by Lynn Johnson, the free event starts at 11 a.m.—the parade begins at noon and ends by 6 p.m.  The Erie Times-News

  • PennDOT announced on Thursday, July 17 that due to a change in work schedule State Street will now close from Second Street to the parkway on Monday, July 28—the closure was originally set for July 21.
