Erie City Council approved using $1,097,563 from ARP interest funds for roof repairs at the city-owned Miller Bros. property after a roof collapsed during the November 2024 snowstorm—officials plan to transform the 3.76-acre site into a public safety and public works complex to replace the aging Marsh Street facility. The project may also seek up to $15 million in state funding as the work moves forward.

Erie County Executive Brenton Davis announced that a new ambulance will soon serve Fairview Township residents, funded by $170,000 in gaming funds as part of a $2 million effort to improve emergency response times.

The ambulance was acquired from the Lake Shore Fire Department and will be operated by West County Paramedic Association & is expected to arrive sooner than the usual 18 to 24 months for a new vehicle.

Preliminary work to build a curved pedestrian bridge over Bayfront Parkway will begin June 23, and a section of East Front Street near Holland Street will be closed for about four weeks to relocate utilities.

Future plans include converting State Street into a bridge and installing a dual lane roundabout, while PennDOT considers a lengthy Bayfront Parkway closure to expedite construction & save costs.
