  • Tim Grow of Que Abides Pit Stop brought food truck ideas back to Fairview after his travels while Erie native Aaron Busch opened Born & Braised at 802 W. 18th St. on May 22 with a fresh-made menu. Other changes include a move of a Puerto Rican restaurant to West Eighth St., Brewerie at Union Station now owned by Jessica Warren, and a new takeout lunch service at Sauce (more local updates are emerging).  The Erie Times-News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Erie Downtown Partnership will present 10 free concerts from June 19 through Aug. 28 in Perry Square, held on most Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m., with performances celebrating events like Juneteenth and a Bob Marley tribute—along with other styles such as polka and country. The series offers a varied lineup for the summer and will skip one Thursday in August.  The Erie Times-News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On May 31, more than 600 high school seniors from Erie High School, NWPA Collegiate Academy, and the Patrick J. DiPaolo Success Center at Emerson-Gridley celebrated their graduation at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Erie. Friends and family gathered to view the ceremony — including keynote speaker Shateria Franklin — as graduates looked ahead to the next chapter.  The Erie Times-News
