- ➤ Erie mother Rotesha Silveus, charged with first-degree murder for allegedly strangling her 18-year-old daughter in Tampa, was declared competent on January 29 and had her May 14 hearing continued with a second scheduled for August 20 while she remains at Hillsborough County Jail—court documents show a DNA swab motion was approved. - ➤ Several Erie County school districts held contested school board nomination races on May 20 and unofficial vote totals showed incumbents and challengers securing party nods in Erie, General McLane, Girard, Iroquois, North East, and Northwestern districts.
