- ➤ On May 16, a fire heavily damaged a house on Erie's west side in the 400 block of Cascade Street after 3 p.m.—firefighters evacuated all residents and pets with no injuries and got the blaze under control before 4 p.m. while an inspector investigated the cause. YourErie.com

- ➤ Grow Erie hosted an open house on May 16 at Savocchio Park to show progress on a 17,000 square foot agricultural facility that turned a 25-year vacant building into a hub for local employment and fresh food in east Erie. - ➤ District 10 announced the playoff schedule for baseball, softball and boys volleyball for next week. The baseball and softball tournaments will begin Monday for Class 1A and 2A before continuing Tuesday for higher classes with championship games on May 26, while the boys volleyball tournament will start Tuesday at Meadville High School.
