BUSINESS NEWS

  • Early Bird Energy will soon open a drive-through on West 26th Street that will sell energy drinks & dirty sodas to local residents. The new business is set to provide a quick refreshment stop for Erie locals.  The Erie Times-News

CULTURE NEWS

  • MIAC has unveiled its 2026 to 2027 season featuring headline performances by Chris Botti (Aug. 28), Renée Elise Goldsberry (Sept. 30), Black Violin (Nov. 10), and David Archuleta (Dec. 8) at Mercyhurst University's Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center and Walker Recital Hall, with masterclasses and membership benefits (renew by June 5).  Mercyhurst University
  • CAFE announced headliners Arrested Development, Plain White T’s and Al Jardine and The Pet Sounds Band for CelebrateErie — a downtown festival from Friday, Aug. 14 to Sunday, Aug. 16. EDUCATION NEWS

  • A 2025 Erie County survey found that one in three students felt depressed, 31% experienced bullying, and one in four used alcohol. The study highlights challenges in student well-being that suggest a need for increased support from educators and community leaders.  The Erie Times-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Erie City Council will consider historic status for the former South Erie Iron Works building at 1919 Peach St and the Erie Labor Temple at 1701-1707 State St when it holds a public hearing on May 20 at 7 p.m. in the Bagnoni Council Chambers at City Hall.  The Erie Times-News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Anna Freitas discussed using radiation for knee arthritis with AHN Saint Vincent's Dr. Chirag Shah & explained her treatment choice as part of exploring non-surgical care options.  The Erie Times-News

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Harbor Village in Harborcreek is leasing apartments and townhomes under construction on 25 acres off Buffalo Road (between the Township Municipal Building and Walmart). The first 20 townhomes and a 36-unit garden apartment building, with rents from $1,110 to $2,190 monthly, will complete this summer as deposits begin.  The Erie Times-News
