- ➤ Lawrence Park Township is celebrating its 100-year anniversary — a milestone marking its 1926 incorporation when General Electric built the town. Residents can expect local events that honor this rich history. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ City officials are evaluating a historic designation for the former Erie Maennerchor social club at 1600 State Street + they hope the status will acknowledge the group's long-standing role in the community. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ Erie doctor Sean Carroll, D.O., donated a statue of Saint Peregrine to Saint George Catholic Church after overcoming cancer, adding a meaningful local tribute (Our Lady of Peace also displays a similar statue). The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Casa Cafe, known for its Latin American baked goods and brunch foods, closed permanently on May 5 after lease negotiations fell through. Owner Augustine Cruz said he declined a long-term contract (3505 W. 26th St.) and refunds are available at Los Primos Mexican Store. The Erie Times-News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Highmark and OB/GYN Associates of Erie have not reached a new provider deal — the current agreement will expire May 15 if no deal is made. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ Oak Street Health clinic (1535 W. 26th St) in Erie closed on May 6 due to rising costs and policy changes; staff were reassigned to other CVS Health locations while its pharmacy remains open. The Erie Times-News
