Erie residents earned Carnegie Medals for heroism after risking their lives by jumping into icy water, tackling moving vehicles, and entering burning buildings—bravery recognized by the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission—from 1911 to 1993.

The second-phase Depot Road reconstruction in Harborcreek will begin May 6 with traffic moving to temporary lanes and detours rerouting vehicles onto Depot & Belle roads.
