- ➤ Waldameer Park & Water World in Millcreek Township will open May 2 and is expected to hire 650 workers for the summer season, creating new local job opportunities and family fun. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ Barber National Institute announced Lake Erie Odyssey, an adapted obstacle course for teens and adults with disabilities at Waldameer Park. Registration is now open for the event on Sept. 12. TalkErie.com

- ➤ Tipsy Bean Cafe owner Giselle Littrell agreed on March 31 to pay over $58,000 in unpaid tips after the state found her electronic wage payments fell short of legal standards — the Department of Labor and Industry confirmed her workers were misclassified. - ➤ A houseboat that sank in spring 2024 at Presque Isle State Park's Horseshoe Pond has deteriorated & will be dismantled and discarded because it cannot be raised intact. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ Erie residents can join the four-day City Nature Challenge starting April 24 to document local plants and wildlife via a free iNaturalist app. Free events will be held on April 25 and 26 at Asbury Woods, Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park, and Erie Bluffs. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ A sunken houseboat at Presque Isle State Park will be dismantled and removed in pieces this spring due to prolonged deterioration (officials said no debris will remain in Horseshoe Pond). The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Climate Central's Earth Day report shows Erie warmed 4.9°F since 1970 — placing it seventh among U.S. cities after ranking fourth in 2023. The report also shows Pennsylvania's statewide average rose 3.1°F from 1970 to 2025. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ Erie ended its winter with 74.3 inches of snow (29.8 inches below normal), as reported by the National Weather Service. Only traces fell on Apr. 20 amid cooler-than-usual conditions, and the city ranked eighth in the Golden Snow Globe contest. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ County Executive Christina Vogel's administration will contact local agencies that serve the homeless to gauge their interest in a tiny homes project. The outreach will help shape the county's new support plans for affordable housing. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will review proposals to raise trout size limits and change catfish rules, and it will vote on grants including a $148,300 project to improve the boat launch on Lake Erie in Erie County during its meeting on April 27 (10 a.m.) in Harrisburg.
