  • Mercyhurst University hosted its annual Polar Plunge Challenge on Tuesday, Apr. 7 to raise funds for Special Olympics Pennsylvania, which supports over 550 athletes.   • Filmmaker Peter Daulton visited Waldameer Park and Water World in summer 2025 for his PBS program Trolley Park: Great Lakes, which will air later this year (showing off the park's special attractions).  The Erie Times-News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The latest State of the Air report shows Erie County earned a C for 24-hour particle and ozone pollution due to four high particle days and three high ozone days during the 2023 wildfires (report covers 2022 to 2024).
