BUSINESS NEWS

  • Xfinity introduced a new Next Gen Pricing plan that gives users unlimited home data, included equipment, and no contracts, effective April 18. Existing customers must switch to the new plan (Erie residents should check availability with their address) to ensure access without extra fees.  The Erie Times-News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Pennsylvania’s Student Teacher Support Program now gives $10,000 stipends to student teachers completing placements in Erie and Harborcreek — applications opened for the 2026 school year and Governor Shapiro has proposed boosting funding to help more future educators.  The Erie Times-News

HEALTH NEWS

  • State officials are planning to grow the LIFE program for seniors in rural areas by increasing enrollment from 2,175 to 3,654 by 2031 using $77.1 million to improve telehealth services & expand day centers. Erie County, already served by LIFE-NWPA in 12 counties, may soon benefit from enhanced community health support.  The Erie Times-News
