A FedEx facility on West 17th Street in Erie will close in June as part of the company’s network transformation.

Employees were notified months ago and many will be offered new roles — a change that supports affected team members.

The new L.L. Bean store in Erie is accepting applications for over 65 full and part-time jobs as it prepares to open later this spring at 6718 Peach St (providing flexible schedules, competitive pay, and discounts) and inviting local applicants to join its team.

Waldameer Park announced new improvements for the season that include a ride called Time Twister replacing the long-running Spider, enlarged restrooms available May 3, two new drink stations, and a renaming of the Potato Patch stand to The Tasty Tater due to copyright changes—admission and food prices will rise slightly to help cover rising electricity costs. The family-owned park also will open a larger Water World entrance on May 24 and plans further attractions in 2026 and 2027.

The City of Erie is hosting its annual tire and electronics recycling event on May 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Municipal Garage Complex at 1926 Holland St — residents must show a photo ID and may drop off up to six tires.
