- ➤ Waldameer in Erie will start its 130th season on May 2 at 220 Peninsula Drive with rides and games available on weekends, and Water World will open on May 23 with its own schedule (Memorial Day features special hours). The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Governor Shapiro & America250PA announced a free five-city concert tour celebrating Pennsylvania’s history, featuring The Fray in Erie on Saturday, June 6. The series runs May 23 through June 27 and offers free admission. TalkErie.com
- ➤ Organizers announced that the Blues and Jazz Festival will be held at Frontier Park on Aug. 1-2, offering nationally touring musicians + local talent, artisan vendors and food favorites for Erie. Updates on the lineup will be shared soon. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ The South Erie Post Office at 3607 Poplar St. remains closed since Oct. 31 for repairs, and USPS awaits contractor proposals to complete interior work plus schedule a reopening date. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ EMTA will upgrade its digital fare collection on Monday, Apr. 13 by updating QR code scanning and tap-to-pay on the Token Transit app. Passengers will continue to use cash and paper passes while active apps update automatically—improving boarding speed. TalkErie.com
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Erie-area dermatologist Dr. Michael Zaycosky reported high patient demand when he opened his office in 2024 (a sign of the growing need for local dermatology care). The Erie Times-News
- ➤ Erie County Department of Health inspected restaurants from April 1-8 and found no critical violations — inspectors recorded only minor noncritical issues at Wang Erie Restaurant and Big B Melody, while earlier violations were corrected at Dollar General and Kwik Fill. The Erie Times-News
