  • Two45 Waterfront Grille, formerly Bayfront Grille—located in the Sheraton Erie Bayfront hotel, celebrated one year with a new coastal bistro menu and plans to expand its outdoor patio. The restaurant will host special brunches on April 20 and May 11 and take reservations for July 3 and the Tall Ships Festival in late August—meeting strong customer demand.  The Erie Times-News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Erie Events announced the free 8 Great Tuesdays summer concert series at Liberty Park on the city’s west bayfront; the concerts begin on July 8 with the Erie All-Stars and will run on eight consecutive Tuesdays in July and August with acts such as Turnstiles, Taj Farrant, Lao Tizer, Smilo & The Ghost, Elton Rohn, New Wave Nation and Cory Marks.  The Erie Times-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday night, about a dozen county residents spoke at an Erie County Council meeting to oppose the county executive’s alleged budget changes made without council approval—several urged the state auditor general’s office to review the budget.   • Lawrence Park and Wesleyville officials are exploring a merger of their police departments to combine resources — talks have started and no timeline has been set.  YourErie.com
  • Erie officers Art Rhoades and his partner Deacon and two other teams are taking a five-week training course at Tri-State Canine Services in Warren, Ohio to build a new K-9 unit for the police department—funded by the mayor’s office and the offices of Representative Harkins and Representative Merski—and learn skills in tracking, drug, and bomb searches that build a strong bond between handlers and dogs.  YourErie.com
