- ➤ Dominick’s Diner and Eatery, a longtime fixture in Erie for nearly 70 years, will close its doors on April 11 at 2 p.m. due to the owners' health concerns—new owners will soon take over the East 12th Street location with plans to keep it operating as an eatery. YourErie.com

- ➤ Seasonal Erie-Tampa air service will resume this fall as Breeze Airways ends flights on April 26 but continues limited Wednesday and Saturday flights through early January—while the airline works on adding connecting routes from Orlando to Provo for Erie travelers. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Mercyhurst University won first place in the National Collegiate Digital Marketing Championship on April 1 at Baylor University where 28 teams competed, with the Lakers—led by Dr. John Parente and adviser William Jeffress—scoring 4,600 points to dethrone defending champion Ohio State University. Dr. Parente said he will recruit students for similar national competitions next year to build on the team's success. Mercyhurst University

- ➤ Rockland Solar LLC filed a lawsuit in federal court on April 2 claiming that East Fairfield Township violated its rights by asking for over $150 million in fees for a solar farm and denying proper due process. The suit alleges that township officials conspired to punish the company for its legal actions while the township has not yet responded. The Erie Times-News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday, AHN held its annual cancer screening clinic in Erie and tested patients for breast, cervical, colorectal, head, neck, lung, prostate and skin cancers—Dr. Rubal Sharma said early screenings help catch cancers when treatments are easier. - ➤ About 3,300 residents in District 3 of Fairview Township must boil their water because chlorine levels dropped below 0.4 milligrams per liter due to a mechanical error and an inactive alarm system, and the order stays in effect until Thursday.
