- ➤ 102 Mercyhurst students earned authorship credit on a national genomic study published in the journal Molecular Biology and Evolution. They contributed gene annotations in Dr. Foulk's genetics courses as part of the Genomics Education Partnership. Mercyhurst University
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Erie County Health Department closed the Speed Check kitchen at 607 W. 18th St. on March 20 after finding six critical violations — moldy food and a lack of certified staff. Owner Lucky Singh plans to remodel the facility and expects it to reopen in about two weeks. The Erie Times-News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Jax Forrest defeated Aaron Seidel 14-3 in the NCAA Division I men's semifinals after their previous high school matchup, underlining a well-known rivalry.
