  • Erie Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and hosted by Our Lady of Peace, celebrated 170 guests (including families, friends and people with special needs) with a red-carpet entrance, music, food and dancing at the Zem Zem Banquet Center in Millcreek Township on Feb. 13.  The Erie Times-News

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Harmony and Blessings Music Series continues in 2026, featuring Jair-Rohm Parker Wells and Ethnic Heritage Ensemble in Erie. The series will host live jazz performances later this year that celebrate local culture.  Erie Reader

FINANCE NEWS

  • Residents with an incorrect W-2 should contact their employer immediately to request a revised form for their 2025 returns. If the error is not fixed by the end of February, they should follow IRS guidance to resolve the issue before filing by Wednesday, Apr. 15.  The Erie Times-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Josh Shapiro will discuss his memoir at a free event hosted by the Jefferson Educational Society on Feb. 23 at 3207 State St. in Erie; doors open at 5 p.m. with a livestream option available for virtual attendees.  The Erie Times-News
  • In 2011, the Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority razed two boathouses along the bayfront to construct a road + parking area connecting the Chestnut Street boat launch to Cherry Street Marina, marking the end of a historic era on Erie's waterfront.  The Erie Times-News
  • PA United has launched a Rapid Response Network in Erie to increase protections and keep neighbors informed + the initiative will coordinate local support and resources.  Erie Reader

SPORTS NEWS

  • Trinity Webster clinched Hickory's first District 10 high school girls wrestling title with a fall at 155 pounds on Feb. 14, earning her second individual championship as her team edged Fort LeBoeuf by 2.5 points among 22 teams while four wrestlers advanced to the PIAA West regional.  The Erie Times-News
  • Five Erie County high school girls won their first District 10 wrestling titles on Feb. 14 at Sharon High School. Erie County athletes clinched eight of 13 weight classes as other champions defended their titles for a slim team win.  The Erie Times-News
