- ➤ On Feb. 6, Erie readers cast 437 votes in a poll that named Trader Joe’s as the most desired national grocery chain with 56% support while Costco trailed with 24%; the closest Trader Joe’s is in Mentor, Ohio. The Erie Times-News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Erie County saw a decline of 4,800 residents — about 1.7 percent — and an increase in seniors to nearly 20 percent, the U.S. Census Bureau reported when it released the 2020-2024 estimates in January. The survey also found a small rise in foreign-born residents and improvements in educational attainment. The Erie Times-News
