EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Twenty-seven high school students turned everyday items like fishing lures and crayons into art on display at Gannon University's education center in Blasco Library since Jan. 30. - ➤ Friends of the Erie County Library raised over $80K in 2025 at its Great American Book Sale. The nonprofit will host the sale at Flo Fabrizio Ice Center (Erie Zoo) from June 14-19 and hold small sales at Blasco Library starting Feb. 12. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Erie's Coast Guard Petty Officer Downer recounted his role in ice rescues on Lake Erie and Presque Isle Bay and explained his team trains twice weekly to stay ready — a duty that becomes critical during the cold months.
