- ➤ On Jimmy Kimmel Live, comedian Mike Epps said he hired a private investigator to trace an online stalker who turned out to be a 12-year-old from Erie, as his mother explained the boy was just having fun while he promoted his Netflix special Delusional. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ Erie's Paul Siple, who joined Richard Byrd's Antarctic expedition at age 19, first calculated the wind chill factor in 1945 by timing water freeze in plastic cylinders, and his method was used by the National Weather Service for over 50 years. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a winter storm warning for Erie County starting today at 7 p.m. until Jan. 26 at 1 p.m., with 8 to 11 inches of heavy snow + wind chills below zero expected; some schools have closed as a precaution. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ PennDOT has set Tier 4 vehicle restrictions to start at 12 a.m. Jan. 25 on all interstates, the Turnpike, and other major roads as a heavy snowstorm is forecast this weekend; Pennsylvania State Police advise drivers not to travel unless necessary. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Erie physicians say flu cases have declined for four weeks, with the week ending Jan. 16 at 30 cases, which may make this season the lowest since 2021-22 (RSV cases remain low despite rising COVID-19 cases) as they urge at-risk patients to keep taking precautions. The Erie Times-News
