- ➤ Over 250 union members from IAM Local 1211 struck at Parker Lord's Summit Township plant on Jan. 10 after rejecting a five-year contract offering 3% annual raises to offset inflation, while IAM Local 1968 members accepted their deal; the company said it is following business continuity plans. - ➤ New Motors changed its business structure when owner and president Allen Yingling secured a Florida investment partner following co-founder Gary New's retirement. The dealership’s 70-acre property on Route 19 was sold using separate corporate entities, keeping the operating business, customer service and local leadership unchanged. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ MIAC launches its Spring 2026 season on Wednesday, Feb. 18 with Tango After Dark, a live theatrical performance featuring world-class dancers and onstage musicians drawn from Argentina’s tango tradition—bringing the passion of Buenos Aires to Erie. Tickets cost $20 to $45. Mercyhurst University

- ➤ Erie High School—located at 3325 Cherry St.—was known as Central and Tech until 2017 when the district converted East and Strong Vincent high schools into middle schools, rebranding the school as Erie High. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ LECOM Health is set to purchase the former Rite Aid Pharmacy at 5430 Peach St. later this month; the health system said the strategic acquisition (listed at $5 million) will offer flexibility for future growth in healthcare services for Erie and Millcreek. The Erie Times-News
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Realtor.com data shows that in October, Erie County homes sold for a median of $217,600, up 8.8% from September; single-family home values increased 8% while condominiums and townhomes dropped 31.6% and overall recorded sales declined slightly to 259 transactions. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Erie Times-News, Seaway Window and AHN Sports Medicine are hosting athlete-of-the-week polls for District 10 winter sports, running online each week from Monday 5 p.m. until Wednesday 5 p.m. through early March — fans can vote for nominees in basketball, swimming/diving, bowling, indoor track and field, and hockey.
