BUSINESS NEWS

  • United Airlines will resume three daily nonstop flights from Erie to Chicago O’Hare beginning June 1, 2026, giving locals more international and domestic travel options. Tickets are available on united.com.  TalkErie.com

CULTURE NEWS

  • Erie music critics released a list of the top three local albums of 2025, compiling reviews published in recent months and highlighting the region’s diverse talent. The feature underscores the community’s vibrant music scene and ongoing support for local arts.  Erie Reader
  • Erie Ale Works will host its 10th Festivus for the Rest of Us on Dec. 23 at the Grand Concourse at Union Station after moving from its brewery. The Seinfeld-inspired party runs 5-10 p.m. and features three bands, Erie Ale Works beer, + Que Abides food truck.  The Erie Times-News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Seven student-athletes made their college commitments official during Fairview Signing Day interviews held today. The video captures each student as they confirmed their plans at the local ceremony.  The Erie Times-News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Erie County Health inspectors recorded eight critical violations from restaurant inspections held Dec. 10-16 with issues found at Gurkha Grill and Chill, Cherry Speed Check 2 and CVS Pharmacy. They also noted minor issues at Subway and corrections at Lake View Country Club, UPMC Hamot and Iroquois High School cafeteria.  The Erie Times-News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Erie Times-News launches its 25 for '25 series listing the top men coaches in Erie County since 2000. The series highlights local leaders for their contributions to sports.  The Erie Times-News
  • North East beat Fort LeBoeuf in a boys wrestling dual on Dec. 18 at their home opener, with senior Kyler See (key to the win) leading the 39-32 victory. Both teams now prepare for a competitive season in the deep D-10 Class 2A field.  The Erie Times-News
  • The Erie Otters traded star Dylan Edwards to the Kitchener Rangers for forward Evan Headrick and a fourth-round pick (2029) after Edwards requested a move to boost his career. The team will play today at Erie Insurance Arena without him and he may return when Kitchener visits in January.  The Erie Times-News
