- ➤ St. Vincent Hospital marked its 150th anniversary with an exhibit at Hagen History Museum that started Thursday night and remains open today. The exhibit displays artifacts and a hospital timeline — including a 1922 bill detail — as the mayor proclaimed the event honoring the historic opening on September 5th. YourErie.com
- ➤ Celebrity chef Robert Irvine will visit Erie on Sept. 10 and Sept. 11 to support military and first responders with charity events. He will sign bottles at Fine Wine and Good Spirits at 3 p.m. on Sept. 10, host the Hero Days Golf Classic at 7:30 a.m. at Whispering Woods, and lead a free concert at Liberty Park at 5:30 p.m.—honoring local heroes. - ➤ ComiCon Erie will take place from Sept. 12—14 at Bayfront Convention Center and will feature a record number of celebrity guests, well-known artists, cosplay contests and Lego displays. Attendees can also join an after party on Sept. 13 from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. with tickets costing between $20 and $85. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ On September 3rd, 2025, the PennEnvironment Research and Policy Center held a press conference in Erie and released a report urging Pennsylvania schools to install solar panels on their roofs—an effort that could support cleaner energy in local schools. The Erie Times-News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Erie City Council rejected a proposal by Councilman Chuck Nelson to let more police officers living in the city take home police vehicles on Sept. 3. Police Chief Dan Spizarny said the current rules meet the bureau's needs—191 officers are active with only 45 living within the city, so there is no need to change the policy. The Erie Times-News
- ➤ Starting Sept. 8, Old Glenwood Park Avenue will be one-way westbound for 700 feet from Perry Highway—eastbound traffic will be rerouted into a new cul-de-sac turnaround while drivers use alternate routes like Glenridge and Young roads to ease congestion. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ On Sept. 22, the 19th century Olds-Norman House will move one block north from 216 W. Seventh St by Wolfe House — the move is expected to take about 90 minutes — as preservationist Thomas Hagen arranges for Gannon University to turn the building into a bed-and-breakfast residence.
