- ➤ The Second Harvest Marketplace opened on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 2:00 p.m. at UPMC Health Plan Neighborhood Center (803 East Ave) offering free groceries and nutrition education designed to give neighbors choice and dignity. - ➤ Erie offers a packed entertainment lineup from January through March featuring musicals, comedy, magic and a dog show at local venues including the Warner Theatre, Kellar's and Bayfront Convention Center (details may change as new events are added). The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Gas prices in Erie dipped below $3 per gallon as of Jan. 15, with over 40 stations selling gas at that rate; the cheapest price was reported at a Sam’s Club station on Peach St. — a members-only location. The Erie Times-News

- ➤ Mercyhurst University earned the Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement, an honor that recognizes its strong local and global community partnerships valid through 2032. - ➤ Mercyhurst University has partnered with the Pennsylvania State Police to offer students internship credit by completing the PSP Academy curriculum (a ten-year agreement) and preparing them for careers in public safety. Mercyhurst University
- ➤ Erie School Board voted 8-0 on Jan. 15 to direct Superintendent Natalyn Gibbs to review school grade configurations while stressing that no immediate changes to schools, staff, or students will occur.
